THE CELEBRATION

After our children's performance and the successful activity we undertook, the children with their parents not only of the Grade 3 pupils joined the picnic. The children took a dip on a pool sustained by well treated spring water, hidden from the public view in an environmental friendly paradise within our area. While the children were busy swimming and bonding altogether in the pool, their parents took time preparing their food. Others are singing in the function area, sharing and exchanging pleasantries. It was so touching - each family brought food and shared it altogether with others, while those with vehicle let other took a ride. As compared to spending time in Malls and fast food chains, the expenses we incurred for our children to enjoy were much cheaper in terms of the benefit and the amenities that we enjoyed. We have not expected that many would come (more than 150 persons) that it raised another P 1,600.00 for the Association, because of its astounding attendance , which was added to the fund we already raised. At the end of the day, the parents held a simple ceremony and decided unto themselves what to do with the fund. For this event they decided that the same be spent to buy a souvenir to each and everyone, as the advocacy campaign we are undertaking continues in this site. We have to abide with the majority. The site we developed and documentaries we undertook by itself is a living witness of how parents, children and teacher in a school has bonded altogether to arrive at a common resolve and vision. It shall continue to be viewed by others. Simple as it is, though how small victory it was - it depicts a journey of consistency, persistency, patience and faith as we continue to walk in this journey we called life, shepherding our ranks. If only our institutions were run, organized and managed - were everyone shares common responsibility, bond together, decides collectively and provides for a transparent administration, we should have been more prouder as Filipinos. Although how small we are : does not matter, what matters most is that - we have shown to these children how we would like them to be when time comes that they themselves becomes like us. Aside from teacher Dobel Dizon, the Grade 3 Adviser of our children, we would like to thank Mr. Olan Estrella, our Treasurer, the Officers and specially the Parents of the Grade 3 pupils and of course, our Children for their good behavior.
