THE CELEBRATION

After our children's performance and the successful activity we undertook, the children with their parents not only of the Grade 3 pupils joined the picnic. The children took a dip on a pool sustained by well treated spring water, hidden from the public view in an environmental friendly paradise within our area. While the children were busy swimming and bonding altogether in the pool, their parents took time preparing their food. Others are singing in the function area, sharing and exchanging pleasantries. It was so touching - each family brought food and shared it altogether with others, while those with vehicle let other took a ride. As compared to spending time in Malls and fast food chains, the expenses we incurred for our children to enjoy were much cheaper in terms of the benefit and the amenities that we enjoyed. We have not expected that many would come (more than 150 persons) that it raised another P 1,600.00 for the Association, because of its astounding attendance , which was added to the fund we already raised. At the end of the day, the parents held a simple ceremony and decided unto themselves what to do with the fund. For this event they decided that the same be spent to buy a souvenir to each and everyone, as the advocacy campaign we are undertaking continues in this site. We have to abide with the majority. The site we developed and documentaries we undertook by itself is a living witness of how parents, children and teacher in a school has bonded altogether to arrive at a common resolve and vision. It shall continue to be viewed by others. Simple as it is, though how small victory it was - it depicts a journey of consistency, persistency, patience and faith as we continue to walk in this journey we called life, shepherding our ranks. If only our institutions were run, organized and managed - were everyone shares common responsibility, bond together, decides collectively and provides for a transparent administration, we should have been more prouder as Filipinos. Although how small we are : does not matter, what matters most is that - we have shown to these children how we would like them to be when time comes that they themselves becomes like us. Aside from teacher Dobel Dizon, the Grade 3 Adviser of our children, we would like to thank Mr. Olan Estrella, our Treasurer, the Officers and specially the Parents of the Grade 3 pupils and of course, our Children for their good behavior.

Teacher Dobel's Farewell Performance

Teacher Dobel Dizon, Grade III Adviser of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School (OLLCS) in coordination with the parents of her pupils initiated a blogsite project to convey the theme of the 9th Field Demonstration Exercise of OLLCS: "HELLO WORLD: A CALL FOR SURVIVAL". The theme of the presentation concerns the present state of our environment to call our attention and the world to address global warming, which is a treat to our children's future. The project which includes a DVD production of the children's presentation to raise fund to address our concern in garbage collection, though how simple, yet a step towards the realization of the children's clamour. The children's voices, their presentation and effort to convey their message, though small and simple touches the hearts not only of their parents but to all of us as well. These children though innocent clamours for their voices to be heard. Who are we then to say no to these children, to these angels in whom our future and the future of our nation depends.

Teacher Dobel's children won two (2) awards in the said presentation, a presentation, which they, their teachers with their parents painstakingly prepared for us to see how they convey their message. Who are we then to deny the world to see the message, which our children wish to convey, the message the theme of the activity itself addresses to the world.

In their presentation the children wanted to live in an environment where flowers blooms, trees rises above us, fish and those that lives in water continues to swim in our rivers and lakes. A place where they can breath clean air, a place where their future is secured.

Herewith is the children's preparation for their presentation on Vimeo, a series of presentation shall hereinafter follow.

Thank you Miss Dobel Dizon, herewith is the fruit of your labor, our children's presentation:
